Rangers – Viktoria Plzen: a new duel with a European test look
The decor is planted. This Tuesday evening, the Ibrox Stadium is about to host a historic first: the confrontation between the Rangers and Viktoria Plzen, in the third preliminary round of the Champions League. A shock to the crucial stakes, with a focus on the dams of the most prestigious European competition.
Rangers: rebound expected at Ibrox 
The Glasgow club dreams of reconnecting with the European evenings at the top, in a format of champions' league now enlarged. For now, Russell Martin's men are advancing cautiously. After a solid success against the Panathinaikos (3-1 on all two rounds), the Rangers ensured the essentials, notably thanks to the a 2-0 home win against a Greek team reduced to ten.
But not everything is oiled yet. In the championship, the entame was pushy. On Saturday on Motherwell's (1-1) lawn, the Scots again missed their start in the Scottish Premiership: for the third consecutive season. With its tactical discipline and European experience, the Czech club has reason to doubt a team of Rangers still in search of automation.
