Euroligue: Talen Horton-Tucker signs at Fenerbahçe, Europe's lead to relaunch his career

The Fenerbahçe confirmed this morning Talen Horton-Tucker's signature for two seasons. The « Wing », previously active in the NBA, finally chose to pursue his career in Europe after several weeks of uncertainty about his future overseas.

One last burst to the abortion NBA

Until the end, Horton-Tucker sought to stay in NBA: he had a 21-day window to accept an American offer, but no proposal that met his expectations was materialized. Faced with the absence of a contract guaranteeing playing time, he opted for the stability promised by the defending European champion.

A contrasting NBA trajectory

Drafted in 2019 in the second round, Horton-Tucker has accumulated six seasons in the NBA, oscillating between « role-player » and more discreet passages at the end of rotation. Present in Los Angeles from the beginning and champion rookie with the Lakers, he then carried the colors of Utah Jazz and then Chicago Bulls. Over the ten seasons of his career so far, he has shown versatile attacking qualities but never really benefited from a fixed and prolonged role.

An episode in Chicago

Returning to his hometown last season, Horton-Tucker had signed a 10-day exhibition contract with the Bulls that turned into an unsecured standard deal before finally being guaranteed. He played 58 games, bringing energy out of the bench and some offensive lightning. On the season 2024-2025 he shot 6.5 points, 1.7 rebounds in 1.4 assists in 12.5 minutes of play,which enabled it to turn on European radars.

A group designed for the EuroLeague

In Fenerbahçe, Horton-Tucker joined an experienced staff, already composed of ex-NBAers such as Nemanja Bjelica, Tyler Dorsey or Carsen Edwards. The Turkish club will offer it a more structured role, offensive responsibilities and the exhibition of European matches, all of which will enable it to stabilize its profile.

Clear objectives and tight timetable

Sportively, the goal is simple: to regain regularity in performance and enjoy a consistent playing time to expand its repertoire. For Fenerbahçe, the arrival of Horton-Tucker strengthens the rear rotation and provides an additional option for possession purposes and the game in transition. It remains to be seen how it will adapt to the tactical and physical requirements of the EuroLeague.
